Exeter Golfer Alex Seelig County Champ!!!!

Exeter's Alex Seelig and Tulpehocken's Chase Miller entered the tournament as the county's best golfers. They owned the two lowest stroke averages after several weeks of high school matches.

The pair wasted little time proving that this edition of the BCIAA boys golf tournament would be a two-man battle.

Just minutes after play began Wednesday, Seelig watched Miller sink a birdie chip on the opening hole at Blackwood Golf Course.

How did the junior respond?

He drained a 40-foot birdie putt of his own.

"From the start it just felt like that," Seelig said of a duel with Miller. "It's what I wanted it. And then that putt made my confidence go through the roof."

It was a sign that neither would relent on this scorching autumn day.

It was also an indication that Seelig would have all the answers.

Seelig fired a 1-under 69 in the morning and a 1-over 36 in the afternoon nine to finish with an even-par 105 that edged Miller by two shots.

"It feels amazing," Seelig said. "It makes me so proud to know I held on."
