Exeter Girls Lax one game away from return to District 3 finals

The Eagles reach District 3 Semi-Finals by defeating Hempfield 15-12 behind a 5 goal performance from Maryn Hubiak.  Will take on Manheim Township Monday @ Penn Manor.  Gov. Mifflin will take on Wilson in the other Semi-final.

Girls lacrosse: Wilson-Mifflin in one semifinal, Exeter in the other

... Exeter was the first BCIAA program to advance to a District 3 girls lacrosse final. The Eagles fell to Kennard-Dale 12-8 in the 2016 championship game.

But this is the first year that lacrosse is divided into two classes, 3A and 2A.

Gov. Mifflin continued its postseason surge last week with an 18-11 quarterfinal win at Cumberland Valley. Lindsey Strohl and Kamryn Bobb each scored five times vs. the Eagles.

Exeter reached the semifinals for the second year in a row by scoring five unanswered goals to top Hempfield 15-12. Maryn Hubiak led the way with five goals, and Isabella Karstien put in four.

Manheim Township, a 21-5 quarterfinal winner over Central Dauphin, has outscored its opposition 350-137 this year. The team's only losses came against Owen J. Roberts (12-11) and Agnes Irwin (17-9).

Wilson has gone 3-0 against Mifflin, including an overtime win in the BCIAA semifinals.

"The intensity goes up because Gov. Mifflin and Wilson in any sport is a big rivalry," Pruitt said. "We want to make sure this is the best game we've played."

The championship game is at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hersheypark Stadium.
